Park Details:

 

Croton Point Park is a beautiful 508 acre park in Westchester County, along the Hudson about 45 minutes north of Manhattan and within walking distance of the Croton Harmon Train Station. It’s a stunning peninsula with indications its been inhabited for over 7000 years….

 

 

Amenities at the Park

 

There is a nature center open from 9 to 4pm

 

There is Kayaking and SUPs from the Beach Area  from Kayak Hudson for 90 minute sessions- please RSVP in advance during the Week to ensure you will get a boat as they often sell out day of….you can do so via the website or via phone @ 914 682 5135

 

The Beach is open from 11 to 6:30, last admission at 6 - here are the rates and fees for the beach

 

additional cost $10 per adult, $5 per child

Directions: When you enter the park, go to the main parking lot. We will be in the area to the right, away from the front entrance, looking out towards the Hudson under some trees

On Sunday it seems there is one direct train an hour and a few connecting trains -  for more details visit the MTA website

 

 

CAN YOU GET ME A RIDE?

 

This event is accessible by Metro North—get off at the Croton Harmon Station—see details above.

 

If we do have people who need rides and we have people offering rides we will pair you up…but not likely for those who want to come just for the  Dinner/ Bonfire.  You will need to have transport in order to attend these events.

 

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

FOR NATURE WALK, BEACH, RELAXING
lunch, 2 liters of water, hat, suntan lotion,

 

for those going swimming—a bathing suit and towel,  boating eye glass retainers/chums (click to see what they are—they help ensure that your glasses will remain on!)

WHAT ARE THE BONFIRE DETAILS?


The bonfire will start at about 6ish with singing, stories and
musical accompaniment depending on who attends and can play. Let me know if you can bring an instrument! We will only have the bonfire if enough people sign up for this option

 

 

 

PAYMENT METHODS - ZELLE OR PAYPAL

 

You may pay in one of two ways, via zelle or via paypal.

 

Via Zelle

 

To pay via zelle, the email I use is davetrekadventures@gmail.com. Please send me a $1 payment via zelle first, and then confirm that I received this by sending me an email  at davetrekadventures@gmail.com and once you get confirmation from me, then you can send the rest. If you have trouble using zelle, you can also ask me about the possibility of using venmo as well.

 

Via Paypal

 

When you complete the  RSVP form at the bottom of this page by selecting your activities, you will be directed to a paypal page and will be asked to log in and pay at PayPal’s site. Once  you complete the RSVP form and pay via paypal, you will be considered fully registered.

 

PRICING

 

Checks should be made out to “Davetrek LLC”. When you arrive you will need to go through registration and complete any payments for the event.

 

Time of registration – calculated from when we receive your reservation on the RSVP Form.

 

COSTS

We require payment in advance, either via zelle or via paypal. Any balance of any monies you owe is due at the event. When you arrive you will need to go through registration and complete any payments for the event.

 

 

Here are some answers to common questions.

 

ARE FAMILIES WELCOME?

 

Yes—especially for the swimming,  beach, the nature center and the nature walk

 

WHAT KIND OF FOOD WILL YOU HAVE?

 

During the day, we will have pareve and dairy snacks. For dinner,  we are having a kosher Chinese  buffet dinner with a variety of choices for meat eaters and vegetarians, from Tokyo Hibatchi, under the Vaad Harabonim of MetroWest, located in Springfield NJ.

 

 

LET ME KNOW ON THE RSVP QUESTIONAIRE IF YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL DIETARY RESTRICTIONS/ISSUES.

 

I AM A VEGETARIAN - WILL YOU HAVE ANYTHING FOR ME ?

 

Yes, we always have plenty of food for vegetarians with the Chinese buffet.

 

WHAT IS YOUR LEVEL OF KASHRUT?

 

We buy all of the items with the standard recognized hechsers such as OU, OK, etc. The Chinese dinner  is  from Tokyo Hibatchi, under the Vaad Harabonim of MetroWest, located in Springfield NJ and is being delivered to us hot and ready to eat.  All other equipment used are my personal items or equipment that we use only for these types of events.

 

Weather and Rain Policy

 

We will  update this for those who RSVP regarding the weather 

 

We intend the hold the event unless steady rain will occur over the course of the entire day. No refunds unless the event is canceled due to rain.

 

 

You may cancel until 7/29/26. Afterwards, you may either substitute a friend for your spot, upon our approval.
